Complaints Policy

In accordance with the Complaints Policy of Due Social Care, Service User(s) and / or their representatives who have any cause for concern or who wish to make a complaint about the service are assured that by lodging a complaint or raising a query they will experience no disadvantage or reprisal.

Due Social Care welcomes comments from Service User(s) and their representative(s) and other stakeholders in the service and uses the input of this type as part of their Quality Monitoring programme.

Due Social Care operates its Complaints Procedure following Regulation 19 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (regulated Activities 2014). For non-regulated activities, Due Social Care operate its complaint procedure following internal quality assurance.  

Informal Complaints:

Day to day issues can usually be resolved by simple management by the Registered Manager or a Supervisor. If the issue cannot be resolved, the matter will be dealt with as a formal complaint. Complaints for the non-regulated activities will be treated as informal complaints until a serious issue is identified such as abuse, harm, or neglect. 

Formal Complaints:

Formal complaints will be acknowledged in writing within two working days. If a longer period is required, the Office Manager will negotiate this with the Service User(s) or their representative. Due Social Care will carry out an investigation and take action within 28 days of receiving a complaint, and the complainant will be notified of the outcomes of the investigation, findings and action taken within this time.

Once we have dealt with your complaint, if you are not happy with the outcome you can refer your complaint to the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman and ask for it to be reviewed. The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman provides a free independent service.

NB: The Ombudsman will not normally investigate a complaint until the provider has had an opportunity to respond and resolve matters.
